Water Play and Siblings

I bought a cheap inflatable pool at Wal-mart today for the kids. I thought they both would love it and it would help with some of the summertime boredom. After much excitement about buying it, inflating it and filling it up, Conall spent about 5 minutes "fishing" in it. That was it -- he was done with it. Caitlin loved it!

I keep looking for something they'll both enjoy and that will keep them out of trouble, but I keep missing. It seems like it is guaranteed that if one of them likes a toy that is for both of them, the other one won't. Now, if one of them has an age-appropriate toy of his own, the other one wants it! I just don't understand siblings!
