Third Birthday

Caitlin started the day by Conall telling her "You're three. Today's your birthday!" She was so excited to "be a big girl now, mommy".

We opened one gift this morning, a "My Little Pony" movie. She was excited about the movie, but it scared her and I ended up with a sweet little snuggle bug hanging on to me. After the movie was over, we made strawberry cupcakes for her birthday. Caitlin doesn't like frosting, so we made them without. She quickly dubbed them "muffins".

At lunch, daddy asked her what she thought about being three and her response was a very excited "I like it!". She sat at the table without her booster seat (she's been using it less and less) and ate lunch with daddy and I. She knew she had more gifts to open, but was very patient -- she knew we were waiting until Conall and daddy were home and Aunt Amy, Na Na, and Po Po had made it here for our "family"  party.

As soon as Na Na and Po Po and Aunt Amy got here she was ready to open gifts. We started with the gifts from Na Na and Po Po, Aunt Amy, and Conall.

Conall's gift to Caitlin -- all his idea -- what a good boy!

By the time we finished opening these, daddy was home and we finished opening the ones from mommy and daddy.

After the gift opening, we headed to US Pizza for a pizza dinner. Caitlin got to ride with Aunt Amy, Na Na, and Po Po.

Caitlin had a great day and enjoyed it being her special day.

I think she really enjoyed her "special day" and I think she is going to have a ball on Saturday too!
She is such a sweet little granddaughter!
