Aunt Mimi (what Caitlin calls Aunt Amy) has been wanting to paint Caitlin's toenails for some time, but we've been waiting until she was a little older and could sit still. Aunt Mimi gave the kids their bath the day she came over for her birthday dinner. Amy'd had a manicure and pedicure the day before and had her fingernails and toenails painted. She also had flowers painted onto her toenails. Both kids were fascinated and Caitlin started to ask Aunt Mimi to paint hers.
Amy came over Friday night with tiny bottles of base coat, pink nail polish, and clear sparkle polish. She also bought a small bottle of glow in the dark polish. Caitlin took her bath early and Aunt Mimi started on Caitlin's toenails. She was so good -- she stayed still and didn't touch the paint until it was dry.
Conall, of course, had to be in the middle of it! He had to sit right next to them and watch. We moved him so that I could get a picture without his head blocking everything. That didn't phase him, he just crawled under Amy and Caitlin's chairs! He was such a pesky brother.
Caitlin LOVES her painted toenails! After she had gone to bed that night, I noticed she had turned her bedroom light on. I came in and turned it off and asked her why it was on. She very matter-of-factly told me "I was looking at my toenails."
