Motley's Pumpkin Patch

We tried another pumpkin patch today, Motley's Pumpkin Patch, and we loved it! It is run by a friend of the people who ran Hidden Valley Pumpkin Patch, the one we used to go to. I just found out about it this week. Here's a link to their site if you live in the area and want to check it out http://www.motleyspumpkinpatch.com/index.html .

This patch is in Little Rock, so it is closer and it was neat, clean and well-organized. The pumpkin patch was close to the parking and the kids could just walk up to it and not have to wait on someone to take us there.

The nice thing was that the main attraction was the pumpkin patch and not all the extra stuff. They did have a petting zoo, which I think is the nicest, cleanest petting zoo I've ever seen. They also had the hayride and pig races.

There were pre-picked pumpkins, the pumpkin patch, and hay bales for the kids to roll around in. They also had a restroom (not a porta potty, although they had those too), a small snack bar, and a gift shop. It was great! The only drawback was the admission fee to get in (it included the pig races and the hayride, but not the pumpkin).

Unfortunately, Caitlin is still terrified of the pumpkin vines. I have no idea why. She went running for the patch when she saw the pumpkins, but then freaked out at the vines as she got into the patch. This time, a vine did get tangled around her shoe, so maybe that was part of it.

Anyway, we had to take Caitlin to a small area where there were some pumpkins but not very many vines. She was crying and wanting me to hold her, but then crying because she wanted a pumpkin. It was pretty silly and would probably have been funny if you didn't know her or love her.

I'll post a slide show of pictures later. Right now, our garbage disposal clogged and is flooding my kitchen floor.
