Happy Constitution Day!

This week at Conall's school is "Me and My Country" and today was Constitution Day. His class is going to write a Classroom Constitution and post it.

This morning, they had a Freedom Parade. The kids decorated plain white t-shirts and made paper hats. The parade started with the raising of the flag and the Pledge of Allegiance. The pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes marched around the school to patriotic music with flags, banners, paper torches, and streamers.

Here are some photos. I'll post videos later.

UPDATE 3:40 p.m.: For those of you in the area, Channel 7 was at the parade with their cameras rolling, so there is a chance that it will be on the news tonight.

Update 9/17 : We missed the 5 p.m. news and half of the 6 p.m. news, but Channel 7 did show the parade at the very end of the 10 p.m. news yesterday. I can't seem to find it on their Web page, but if I do, I'll put a link here.

It looks like you had a good time at the parade. I like your hat and your tee shirt. That reminds me; do you remember the goat that tried to eat your tee shirt at the fair last year? Wasn't that funny!
