Neighborhood Egg Hunt

Last Saturday, we went to our neighborhood egg hunt. We love going every year because it is a small egg hunt. We know a lot of the kids and parents. The big kids help the little ones out. There aren't any lines and every kid walks away with some candy. And, you hunt the eggs, put them in your basket, go open the eggs and get the candy/prize certificate out of the egg and then return the eggs to the organizers for use again next year. It is so much more enjoyable than the citywide or large church egg hunts!

Daddy was still in Atlanta on Saturday morning, so Aunt Amy went with us this year. We had a wonderful time. The kids used some plastic baskets I got them the day before for the hunt, instead of their nice "Easter bunny" baskets. They were able to fill them up without spilling too many eggs and we didn't have to worry about the nice baskets getting dirty. The egg hunt didn't have as many participants this year as in past years, possibly due to the cold, cloudy weather. That meant lots of eggs for every kid -- you'll see what I mean from the pictures -- our baskets were overflowing and there were still eggs on the ground! Every child had the same experience, which is so much better than not enough eggs for every child!
